We are beyond honoured to announce that Pillars Pilsner has been ranked 7th in the We Are Beer Top 50 UK Beers 2026, making it the highest-ranked lager in the entire list.
To place in the top ten, and to do so as the only lager, is a landmark result for Pillars, and a powerful endorsement from beer drinkers across the country. The Top 50 was determined by a public vote of more than 6,000 beer drinkers, making it one of the most widely voted-for beer rankings in the UK.
For a small, independent, London-based brewery that has always championed lager at a time when indie beer culture favoured ales and IPAs, the achievement is especially meaningful. This award is particularly poignant for us as it falls in the midst of our 10th anniversary celebrations, marking a decade spent perfecting the craft of lager brewing.
Pillars Brewery was founded on a simple conviction: that the UK deserved a world-class lager made on home soil. Brewed in East London, Pillars Pilsner is crafted using contemporary brewing techniques combined with traditional brewing principles. This isn’t the first time Pillars Pilsner has been recognised as the UK’s best, winning the UK's best Pilsner at the World Beer Awards 2021 and a Gold in the Session Lager in keg SIBA National Awards 2025.
